Blown-In Fiberglass Insulation Services in Utah

Best Systems Roofing installs blown-in fiberglass insulation for homes and new builds from Provo and Orem to Salt Lake City and Ogden. Whether you're building new, topping off a thin attic or starting over with a full removal and reinstall, we'll get your home to the right insulation level for Utah winters and summers.

Our Insulation Services

New Construction Insulation

We work with builders and homeowners to blow in fiberglass insulation on new homes and additions, so the attic is insulated to the right depth from day one.

Insulation Top-Offs

If your existing insulation is in decent shape but too thin, we blow in additional fiberglass over it to bring your attic up to recommended levels. It's the fastest, most affordable way to improve comfort and cut energy costs.

Complete Insulation Reinstallation

When old insulation is compressed, wet, dirty or damaged by pests, topping it off isn't enough. Our full reinstall includes three steps:

  1. Vacuum out: We remove the old insulation from your attic with a high-powered insulation vacuum.
  2. Air seal: With the attic floor exposed, we seal gaps around can lights, bath fans, plumbing stacks, wiring and the attic hatch.
  3. Blow in: We install fresh blown-in fiberglass evenly to the target depth.

Why Blown-In Fiberglass?

  • Even coverage: Loose-fill fiberglass fills around joists, wiring and odd-shaped spaces better than batts.
  • Won't settle much: Fiberglass holds its depth well over time.
  • Moisture and fire resistant: Fiberglass doesn't absorb water and is naturally noncombustible.
  • Cost effective: A strong R-value for the price, and quick to install.

Why Insulation Matters for Your Roof

Insulation isn't just about energy bills. When warm air leaks into the attic, it heats the underside of the roof. Snow melts on the upper roof, refreezes at the cold eaves and forms ice dams that push water under your shingles. As roofers, we see this damage every winter. Proper insulation and air sealing keep the roof deck cold and help your roof last longer.

Signs Your Home Needs More Insulation

  • High heating or cooling bills compared to similar homes
  • Icicles and ice dams along your eaves every winter
  • Snow melting quickly on your roof while neighbors' roofs stay white
  • Upstairs rooms that are hard to keep warm or cool
  • Attic insulation that sits level with or below the floor joists
  • Old insulation that looks flattened, dirty, wet or damaged by rodents

How Much Insulation Do Utah Homes Need?

Most of the Wasatch Front falls in a cold climate zone. ENERGY STAR recommends attic insulation of about R-49 to R-60 for homes in these zones, which is roughly 16 to 20 inches of blown-in insulation. Many older homes in Provo, Orem, Salt Lake City and Ogden have far less than that.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I top off my insulation or replace it?

If your current insulation is dry, clean and just too thin, a top-off is usually the best value. If it's compressed, wet, moldy or contaminated by pests, a full vacuum-out, air seal and reinstall is the better long-term fix. We'll tell you which one your attic needs.

Do you insulate new construction homes?

Yes. We blow in fiberglass insulation for new builds and additions and can coordinate with your builder's schedule.

Why air seal before blowing in insulation?

Insulation slows heat transfer, but it doesn't stop air from leaking through gaps. Sealing those gaps first keeps warm, moist air out of the attic, which improves comfort and helps prevent ice dams and condensation.

How long does an insulation job take?

Most top-offs are done in a few hours. A complete vacuum-out, air seal and reinstall usually takes one to two days depending on attic size.
